Why am I not receiving all of my messages?

So I've noticed since the Pie update that I am not receiving all of my text messages. Specifically, I've noticed it in a group message I have with other friends. My fiance will receive the messages just fine (he has an iPhone 7), but they don't appear on my end of the group chat. Instead, I'll sometimes see them downloading within the individual message threads I have with the contacts, but sometimes it won't be able to download the messages and will just say "Message expired or not available". Other times, though, I just don't even get the message. I'm not quite sure what to do, but I'm thinking it has something to do with the Pie update because I was receiving all of the group messages just fine before the update, but now I'm not.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm seeing that sometimes as well. Hard to say if it's due to Pie or my carrier (T-Mobile). When this happens, I have good mobile data connection (which is important, since group texts are MMS messages, which require mobile data). Which carrier do you have?

I'm having the exact same issues. On Verizon with a Pixel XL.
