Why am I showing a Google Duo update when I don't have it in my Apps list?

I updated to Android 10 and one of the updates I received is Google Duo June-9-2020 version 91.0.315322534.DR91_RC03.s and I do not have Google DUO installed on my phone. It does not show in my Apps.

Why am I receiving this update ?

Here are all the installed Google Apps

Go to Settings>Apps, then tap Menu>Show System if you don't see it where Javier P indicated. Google Duo has become Google's native video calling app (pretty much Google's version of FaceTime, but more inclusive -- iPhone users can install it as well), and is preinstalled on all of their Pixel phones.

Samsung as well, with Android 10 Duo going be more intergrated on phones

The app google duo cannot be found and this is a security flaw in google update system. the file is no visible when searched in apps or system apps. A search for duo which is not the name of the app also shows no app.

this is the second time it has occurred. In Android 9, I had posted Samsung pay with the similar issue except it did not have a version.

The update google duo has disappeared from the update list and was not installed because the recent installed apps does not show the app.

Which Samsung phone you have ?

Not exactly sure how this could be considered a security flaw. A glitch, maybe, but security flaw? Are you concerned that Google was trying to lure you into installing a malicious app from Google themselves?

Just so I can satisfy my curiosity, can you please show a screenshot of the Settings>Apps menu after you've also tapped Menu>Show System, and scroll down to the "D" section where Duo would normally be listed?

I am concerned that an update that appeared for an appliaciotn google duo which I did not install and did not exist in my applications or system app after appearing then disappeared. This is a security flaw as no update should occrr for applications not installed on the phone.

This phone was recently updated to Android 10. Also this occurrred before with Samsung pay which I did not use and cannot remove from the phone it showed an update and without installing it it also disappeared.

Updates that are valid do not disappear as long as the application is installed.

Is there another method to verify installed updates? How can a update for an app like google duo not be found in apps ?

You can complain to Samsung, since they're the ones pushing the update. My guess is that this has to do with Samsung making both Duo and Samsung Pay essentially into native apps on their devices.. Your phone presumably didn't have these installed before, and one of the major changes with their Android 10 update was to include these apps as native.

An easy way to find any app is using the Search feature in the settings. Open the settings, tap the magnifying glass in the top bar and type 'Duo' or any other app that you want to locate. It can find even the apps that you disabled.

It integrates the Duo option into your Phone application, so when you look at a contact, you see the video call option.

I don't accept the answer that google incorporated this app into another. The reason is this occurred before where Samsung pay update appeared then disappeared from my updates without me updating(See android 9 forum). Also the name clearly states Google Dua so any app that requires updating that does not match that name is nefarious and Google should be well aware.

Why would the update disappear from the update list without me updating the app? Can anyone provide an example of any kind ?

It's not Google that incorporated an app into another, it's Samsung that integrated Duo into their dialer and there were plans to do the same with their messages app.
