Why am I unable to text on my HTC One M8 4.4.4 since the update?

HTC on M8 4.4.4 update, Texting issues

Hi everyone,

I have an HTC one M8 as stated. This has happened slowly but progressively gotten worse since the update in the fall.

It started with just getting messages saying "download" i would click and nothing would happen, over and over.

Now im just not ever getting that message, occasionally i get a "anonymous" text, thats blank, or unknown sender....

At first i thought it was because they were apple users... except last night, I STOPPED GETTING ALL TEXT.... now I'm getting them again!

I have, reset, factory reset (i did this today, I am unsure if its helped), rooted my phone (but cant figure out how to get lollipop since some people claim that will fix it), cleared cache, i mean anything and everything that i can find in other forums from last year.

So... HTC says it my providers fault, Bestbuy mobile says its an updates fault, and guess i will go to my provider next to see....

I can only assume its my providers fault considering how it works sometimes but not all the time? I dont know, im pulling my hair out. Not texting is crippling....

Any advice? Options? Others in the same boat? Did lollipop update fix it?
