AC Question

why are my emails deleting themselves before i can even read them

I have had my Galaxy S5 for almost 2 years now and have always had the same email setup using the standard email that comes with the phone and until today i have never had any issues.
Now all of a sudden i receive emails (sync is set to 5 min) and i receive emails i go to open the email and it says no emails available even after i get the notification that i received emails.
the email are not deleted from the server or my PC (which is not sync to my phone) i have set up the server email so it will keep emails for 1 day. i have been using this same account for many years so i know the setting are all good, its just now the emails wont stay on the phone.
i also have the phone set to retrieve up to 200 emails

i hope you can assist in finding a solution Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Try removing the email account from the Email app, then adding it back again.

I to have the same issue ,
Have done multiple removals and addings on 3 different email apps still have the same result
Been to Samsung did full factory reset still have the same result.
Samsung told me that it is a server issue with the provider.
Provider tells me that it is a phone issue.
Uh oh getting dizzy.......
Just need it fixed, costing me income all this time back and forth.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Android Central Micky dees!

Lets see if we can sort you out.

1. Which model of Samsung Galaxy S5, as per #1.2 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide, do you have?

2. Which exact firmware, "Version", are you on, as per #1.8 of the above guide?

3. Which email app are you using?

4. Who is your carrier?

5. Who is your email provider?

Also, do you know if you're using the POP3 server or the IMAP server? IMAP is preferred, since it's a more modern protocol, and doesn't download emails locally. Read more here: IMAP vs POP3
