Why are my messaging apps taking forever?

Messages app takes forever

So random, but whether it is a group message w only text, or one one one with an iphone user, i get this 'downloading' message when waiting for the message. I've cleaned the cache, rebooted, you name it...helps occasionally. What do I do OR is there a better ap to use?

There are a lot of messaging apps - some of which you might love, some of which you might hate. Put text into the Play Store search and try some. GO SMS Pro and Textra SMS both seem to work well. People also use ChompSMS and Handcent.
