Why are my notification previews not displaying - Gear 2 Neo

When i used to get a notification on my Gear 2 Neo - it would show a preview of the message/notification now it just shows me which app has sent the notification with a large icon from that application. I have the setting 'Preview Message' set to on - It seems to have been doing it since the last Gear manager update, it's irritating as I only require the preview message from some apps to get all the info I need - anyone else noticed this?

I'm not getting any notifications right now so I can't check, I've been messing with my watch all day trying to figure out why Auto-Lock wasn't working. Turns out after talking with Samsung online it looks like they took away Auto-Lock with yesterday's update. Wouldn't be surprised if they did the same thing for "Preview message" with this update. Don't know why they're ******* things up like this, I don't think I've ever been this pissed about a software update before.

I hope someone figures out how to port to Android wear, I would never have bought this watch if I known it was Tizen!

I see that you follow Samsung Gear 2 on Google+, how did you miss that it runs Tizen? That was one of the biggest points of it's marketing... Stricken for impoliteness, left in place for posterity. Apologies.

Perhaps this is not the right watch for you. If you want an Android wear watch, you shouldn't settle for something different. Life is too short to not be happy. Get something that works the way you want it to now, not something the may do what you want at some point in the future(I highly doubt a full AW port for Gear 2 will be coming at any point in the near future). You'll just add to your frustration if you expect a banana to be an orange.

It was an impulse buy done with absolutely NO research, it flashed up on offer and just taking into consideration it was Samsung and it was new I expected it to be great and having had Samsung phones for the last 6 years just expected it to be android, shame on me. And surprisingly enough I followed Samsung Gear on Google+ after purchasing, otherwise I'd have to follow every single group on Google+ just in case I happen to buy something in the future - **Now following "Complete nutrition for breeding Albino goats" on Google+ ... Just incase haha

Makes sense. I think(thought?) a lot of the users of the completely unnecessary(I say that as an owner ) "smartwatch" are tech-savvy/interested parties, so maybe I jumped the gun on your pre-purchase enthusiasm/research. Wasn't meant to offend! I'm a HUGE fan of impulse buying, myself, and I've been in your shoes many a time!. As long as you take the watch for what is is, just an accessory to a phone and not a replacement, I think it does a really good job. But it's not going to be a standalone(or even AW) device, nor was it designed to be. Like most things, lower expectations yield happier outcomes.

(Now, back to the original thread...) OP, you said you have Preview msg setting on, so if it is not applying that setting, my advice is to do a reset(not reboot) of the watch. If that doesn't work, a factory reset of the phone may be in order. I hate encouraging someone to pull that trigger, but sometimes that really is the magic cure.

I've seen YouTube videos on putting Android Wear on a Gear 2. I deliberately got the Tizen Gear 2 Neo based on what I heard about having to say "OK Google" all the time with Android Wear. So far I am very pleased with the Neo as it does even more than I anticipated or was looking for.

I would probably regret changing to android wear anyway, apparently even the port that is available will probably struggle to ever handle phone calls, one of my favorite features about the watch is being able to silence incoming calls - it's very handy!

The thing I don't like is the Tizen App store it's very scarce and the majority of apps available are faces or identical copy's of other apps, and I already have a feeling the app makers have lost interest.

* I am the original OP I didn't sign in when originally posting* - I've tried restarting but no good I think it must be something to do with the update - i'm a massive fan of flight radar and when i used to get an alert from that it would have the apps icon and underneath a little 1 line telling me what the alert was, now just a larger app icon - it's the same with all other apps, with hangouts being very strange and showing a large icon and MY email address when i receive an alert rather than the 1st line of the message - i liked the preview before it was informative enough to know weather to open a message on my phone or not with no interaction with the watch
