Why are my pictures showing up as a black screen with a mountain looking icon and an ! on it?

My photos on my note 4 are all of the sudden replaced with black screens with a mountain looking icon and a !. what happened to my pictures? Does this have anything to do with picasa web ?

That happened to me recently (I have a Note 3) where shortly after taking photos, they would be replaced by the same mountain-type icons within a black background. Then they would disappear completely. Do you by chance have your photos saved to a micro sd card in your phone? If so, it may be corrupt. That's what I discovered after doing a bit of online research.

I've since relocated my photos to my phone's device storage and no longer have this issue.

That's the screen you get when your device is not enable to read the full file data. If they are saved to an SD card, I'd move them off and format the SD card. Then try moving them back to the SD card.
