Why are my Shortcuts getting added automatically to the home screen (S6 Active)?

Shortcuts added to home screen fix. (S6 Active)

Anytime that I add an app or open an app, a shortcut is automatically added to the home screen. Is there some way that I can disable this "auto add shortcut" feature? It's not a major issue but more like a constant annoyance.

Open the Play Store and in the settings uncheck "Add icon to home screen".
