Why are the lock screen options not showing up when I lock my screen?

lock screen options not showing up when i lock my screen

I have an AT&T galaxy S5, I have configured a password for my device in the lock screen option, but when I lock my phone, and try to unlock it, it doesnt ask for the password I configured, it lets me unlock just by swiping the screen. same for the finger print, same for patron, and all other options.

the only way it kind of works is if I complelely turn off the phone, and turn it on again, but it only shows once, then if i lock and unlock again still doesnt ask for any password.

how can i solve this without installing any third party app?

Do you have an extended timer set up before it locks the screen?

I always manualy lock my phone with the button on the side.

If you mean that there is a timer that turns on after I lock my screen and enables the phone to ask for my password after a while, then I dont know.

But a strange thing happened, I left the phone with the finger print enabled, and after a while when I switched the screen on, it asked for my finger print, which at start it looked weird, but now that you mention it, that may be a posibility, though I didn't know you could do that to a original rom, unrooted phone. I still don't know how to change that, can you help me?

found it, apparently i'm an idi*ot.

There is an option at the very bottom of the lock screen configuration, it says "screen lock time", it was configured by default, to apply 10 minutes after shutting the screen off. I changed it to "instantly with the power key or when the screen times out", that solved the problem.
