AC Question

I did nothing to it. The very first day I got it I noticed a small streak of dead pixels on bottom of the phone. I convinced myself it would go away and it did. But a couple days lighter I noticed another streak but a little longer on the middle left side of the phone. And a couple days later I noticed ANOTHER streak on the middle left side with another one a little smaller next to it. I believe I was sold a defected phone. Will LG replace it? Also, after watching videos of the phone being tested for water resistance, (there was even a test where he submerged the phone in water and put it in the freezer for 24 hours and it still survived) I decided since my phone was smudgy after usage I ran the phone under a faucet and rubbed the smudges off. The phone still worked fine. But my question is, If I ran it under the faucet for about 30 seconds, will it affect the water damage indicator? They won't replace the phone if that's the case. And the dead pixels were there before I washed off the phone so I'm not trying to pull a quickie.

Also, to answer the OP question, you should've taken the phone back to where you bought and exchanged it since it happened shortly after you bought it. It was probably a factory defect. As for your rinsing question, I'm not sure how to answer that as I'm not sure how much it takes to show it was under water. If it exceeded the IP67 rating, then yes. If not, you should be fine. Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is back up all your valuable data. Then, you might as well do a factory reset, because you will probably be asked to do one by your carrier, or LG, if you do a warranty claim. Let us know if the FDR has any effect.

You can try and see if they will replace it. The worst they can say is no. I would try what the above post said about doing a FDR to see if it helps at all.
