Why aren't my calls going through on my Samsung Galaxy Ace Style?

Samsung Galaxy Ace Style--Problems...

I recently purchased a Samsung smartphone. After setting it up through Total Wireless, I noticed a problem. Phone calls would not go through. It wouldnt ring! Same with text messages. Sometimes they would come through 5+ hours after they were sent! All my sounds are at max, I have no one on my blocked list. NOTE: The phone rings SOMETIMES but 50% of the time, it doesn't.

Sounds like a dud, and I would get it replaced. Aside from that I have to question the reliability of the carriers network, it may be a MVNO but still calls and txt msgs should not be delayed by 5+ hours or not come through at all. You are paying for a service.
