Why aren't pictures from the phone not showing up on the computer when I connect by an USB cable?

Hi, I have a problem. Recently , when I try to transfer files and pictures from my phone to my comptuer , by an USB cable, they just dont show up. On the phone it is perfectly fine, everything is ok, but on the PC, the folder is empty? The phone I am using is Huawei Honor 10 lite and PC- Lenovo Legion Y520. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

+ It takes very long to load these folders, which is strange, cause in the end, the PC finds nothing.

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect the phone via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon -- is MTP or File Transfer selected?
