Why can't I connect my Samsung A3 with pc via USB?

why i can't connect my samsung A3 with pc via USB

after being updated to lollipop, i cannot connect my A3 via Usb and it is only USB charging...
please solve my problem...

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel on the phone--do you see a USB notification? If so, tap it and make sure MTP is selected.

i was connected my samsung A3 to my PC via USB and also selected MTP, but it doesn't working as there is no connection on PC.
PC also can't installed samsung A3 completely. Pls advice how to solve this problem. thanks

Goodmorning! I have the same problem: when i connect my samsung A3 to the PC with USB the PC does not detect the phone. I tried with different usb cable and with different pc but it still doesnt working... this happens since the installation of the new phone update two days ago..

No, there is no usb icon on the notification panel. And then there is an other problem: when i charge my battery connecting the phone to an outet, the battery does not charge. The only way the charge the battery is to connect the phone to a PC... and all these problems appeared when i installed the last update

Was this an official system update, pushed over-the-air by the carrier or manufacturer? Or did you manually download the update from some website?

I have the same problem: since the latest update to lollipop my phone is not recognized for file transfer. This means that swiping the notification panel down the USB connect icon is not there. I have MTP selected and before the update it worked smoothly. I have Galaxy A3 (2016). It was an official system update, pushed over-the-air by the carrier or manufacturer.

Hello, I have the exact same problem, tried to flush my cache, put the phone on debug, install new driver and also smart switch but nothing that damn phone won't be reconize by the PC. It just does nothing but charging. No icons or pop up telling me it's connected, nothing. I run out of ideas.
PS: the same thing happen on two computers with win7 and 1 with win8 and also tried also different cable..any help would be very welcome. thanks.

Aparently you f'ed the update/upgrade ... please push a fix, i will not reset and loose all my data cause you are unable to do a frikkin' UPDATE ... PROVIDE FIX ASAP as this is a general issue !!!

dear first of all tr to change your cable and try a genuine cable. than go for any other complicated solutions

You assume this usb icon will appear but you did not assume this option may not be there like my case. Then what to do?

Welcome to Android Central! I wasn't assuming anything -- I was asking if a USB icon appears when the phone is connected to the computer.

If the USB icon doesn't appear, then the cable or the port might be faulty. Try a different cable. Also, do you have an A3 as well?

I'm having exactly the same issue.

samsung A3
tried genuine cable
tried new cable
I have the Latest update

The USB or MTP icon is not there. In fact, running a system search, the MTP (media Device connector) application is no longer packaged with the latest update, which would explain why so many people are having this issue.

this needs to be fixed - Who needs to know? How can we push this through - its obvious that more than enough people are affected to push out a hotfix.

The issue is annoying, but not a show stopper - At the moment, to transfer files, I'm having to copy to SD and then fiddle about removing the SD card and putting it in the PC.
