Why can't i control my Gear Fit 2 remotely?

Today, my gear fit 2 automatically connected to my phone when I was sleeping. All Wi-fi was on. Then it connected, But when i went to another place where I could connect to the Wi-fi on both devices, it refuses to. I tried to do this.
Go to settings>Gear Connect> Then the connection remotely function. But when I turn off my bluetooth, the function doesn't work. Help?
