Why cant i download apps from play store?

I just did a factory reset of my moto g5 plus, and whenever I try to download any app from the play store, it says downloading without showing a progress bar. My internet is working fine otherwise, but no apps are getting downloaded.

Welcome to Android Central! Why did you do a factory reset? Was it malfunctioning beforehand?

Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data? Try going to Settings>Apps and clear cache/data from both the Play Store and Download Manager.

Clearing data for Download Manager actually worked for me. If you have a download going on, you'll need to restart it.
