Can't get texts from m8 to vehicle

I am trying to get text messages to show up on my Chevy Mylink through bluetooth. I have paired the phone and phone calls/music work great but the text messaging capability does not. I have tried pairing multiple times and always allow all the settings but still no luck. I went to sprint and tried pairing a galaxy s5 with the truck and the text messaging worked. I have tried both my wife's and my m8's with no luck. I have a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado with a sprint HTC m8. I have checked for updates on the phone and everything is up to date. I have even called HTC customer support but they were not much help. I am wondering if there is a setting I am missing somewhere?

Chevy Mylink stats that it "Requires a compatible smartphone with Bluetooth profile (M.A.P.) and applicable text messaging features." Reading up I have learned that kitkat 4.4 made M.A.P standard on devices but is there a way to turn it on and off?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Keith

Re: Can't get texts from m8 to vehicle

Try it with a clean text thread. I don't know about your vehicle, but some if you have any pictures or emoji in your text conversations it may not work correctly. Also are you using stock messaging app??

I have tried with both the stock messenger and handcent. I have not tried a clean text thread. Will try it today.

Re: Can't get texts from m8 to vehicle

I have a 2013 Accord and it works about 98% of the time. You might try renaming the phone and repairing it again. I plan to wipe my device when I get lollipop and repair it. Also see if they can update the radio firmware on the car.

Thanks

Has anyone figured out a solution to this problem? I just bought a new Suburban. Both my wife and I have HTC One M8 phones. We had the car at the dealer for 2 hours trying to get this to work. They had no clue. I call the GM Customer Assistance number and all they could say is "yeah, there are a bunch of issues with HTC phones", "your carrier will have to fix that".

I was able to get mine to work after talking to both HTC and tech support for my vehicle. They were just as confused as I was. I ended up having to delete all of my text messages and delete then pair the phone to the vehicle. After that it works like a champ. I do find that the more text messages I have in my history the longer it takes for the vehicle to register new messages. So if it starts to become lagged with showing the message just delete any unnecessary messages and it should fix it.
