Why can't I send outgoing messages on my email account?

Email account - Can't Send Outgoing Messages

I have a Galaxy S4 and have two email accounts on it. They used to work with no issues but now I am having a problem with one of them. I can not get the account to send emails.

I deleted the account and re-added it with no luck. Now it says when I reloaded it "Checking incoming server settings" then says "Unable to connect to email server to verify your account information. No response from server". This hasn't happened in the past.

Also when I reloaded both accounts it now only shows a few emails in each inbox and when you look on a PC I have maybe 50.

I do not use the wifi at home. For my connection is use the hotspot. I have no idea what I did, what to do and need some help. One account is a business account and I need to be able to use it. Please help and thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you double-checked all of the IMAP settings (I assume you're using IMAP and not POP3) and compared them with the settings listed from those email providers?

I looked up that info and checked it to my phone and its correct.

Email - IMAP Settings

What else should I do? I reset my phone to the factory settings. Wasn't much to lose so I went for it. That was a waste of time. I have read the many suggestions and nothing has worked. Funny but on my Gmail account I could send, receive, etc. and on the ATT accounts I couldn't get it to send, delete but could receive email. After the reset not they are both acting the same.

There is quite a bit of info on updates and email accounts. I am not so tech savvy so I am not sure what everything means but I do know that I did some updates and one email account went south. It used to work with no problems. Now after the complete phone reset both went south. On my PC I can see everything in my email accounts. On the phone only most current posts - no history.

One of the suggestions in the forum was to do this:

If you are having troubles syncing your mailing account on the Samsung Galaxy S4 after Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, here is a small fix: go to Settings > Data usage > Menu and ensure to check Auto-sync data.

I checked and this is good to go.

So is the problem solved, or are you saying that it was checked to begin with, but the problem still remains?
