Android Central Question

Hi, when I try to message two or more contacts I create new message, add recipients, compose text but when I try to send it says "Failed to send group message. Group messages cannot be sent to x, x and x. Please remove or edit".

Help! I need to send texts to my clients, but dont want to have to send individual texts or create a different group for each day as my clients vary daily. Cheers

Hi there. Are you using the messaging app that came with the phone? If so, are you using chat messages or text messages? Have you ever been able to send group messages or is this a new issue? You could try to clear the cache and the data under storage in settings-apps-messages-storage.

Please register for an account so we can help you further. With a guest account, you can't reply. Thanks

Hi there, I have owned this phone for 3 days and have not been able to send multiple recipient texts from day 1. Not sure if it's me or something I need to do with the phone set up wise. Yes I'm using the app on the phone and im using text messaging not chat (wouldnt have a clue how to do that)I now have an account. Account name us minikins

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain your mobile data is on? Group texts are MMS, which require mobile data (not wi-fi or voice signal). Are you able to send and receive picture texts as well?

Nope tried that, but by doing that it only chose one of the 3 recipients entered that it would not send to? I dragged all my contacts across using smart switch. Why would it allow some contacts but not others?

Tried what? Sorry, it's hard to tell who you're responding to. Are you saying that you confirmed your mobile data is turned on? If so, then go to your messaging app's settings, and look for a group texting option -- make sure that's turned on.

Right, from what I understand group messages are converted to MMS as you said. BUT MMS are charged for and texts are not on my plan. Is there anyway you can stop a group SMS converting to MMS without having to download a different messaging app like handcent?

Sorry, are you saying that with your wireless plan, SMS is included but not MMS? Or are you concerned that the MMS will count against your monthly mobile data allotment?
