Why can't I sign in to samsung s7?

I've got Samsung galaxy s7 from my friend. The phone has been reset. I can't sign in , it keeps asking me to sign in with an account previously synced with that phone. If the case is that they didn't remove their Google account prior to the reset, is there any way fix the problem?

You need to have your friend log in and finish the setup. Once into the main home screen, go into the phone settings and to the accounts screen. Remove any and all Google accounts, then reset the phone again. This should remove the Factory Reset Protection and allow you to set it up from scratch.
