Why can't Windows seem to find my phone?

windows can't find my phone.

I tried to put music on my android phone sad card through sub cable. I was using windows media player. the media player can't detect my device. I have been doing this for the past couple of years and never had this problem before. I tried all kinds of ways to check this and restarting both phone and computer. Not sure what to do. Does anyone ever had this problem and how did you fix that problem

Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player.
If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player.
Click the Sync tab, click the Sync options button and then click Set up sync.
In the Device Setup dialog box, click a playlist to see which files will sync as part of the playlist.
