Why did my unlock screen change to one with an ad?

I'm not sure what kind of usage I received overnight but my Samsung galaxy s8's unlock screen just changed to one with apps and an ad. How do I remove this?

You have to figure out what app you recently downloaded that brought on the ads.

It sounds like adware, which is nothing more than an app that installed itself on your phone and now is serving ads with the intent (well you know) to click on them.
