S25 Ultra might lose bluetooth connectivity on the S Pen.

I was fond of the S-Pen as a shutter button ever since that feature was introduced. But it doesn't bother me to lose that capability now that I can use my watch instead, as well as voice control (and palm gesture for selfies).

I wonder if you could use a replacement S24U s-pen with the S25U and if it will fit in the slot?

I believe there was a guy on here last year that tried with S23U in the S24U slot and got it stuck. He was asking for ideas on how to get it out without damaging his brand new S24U

Lets face it, most don't even use the s pen. Myself included. If bluetooth was really that important, Samsung would never take this feature away.
I agree 100%, I do use my pen daily however have only used the Bluetooth feature maybe once in the last 5 years. For me it's no biggie but others might not feel the same.

I'm not purchasing the S25 Ultra and I don't care about the S-pen personally. But, I am curious to why they opted to not include a Bluetooth S-pen this time around, especially in a basically Note-style device like the previous three years before this. The Bluetooth S-pen, as far as I know, has basically been in every Note and S "Note-designed," device since the Note 9.

What's wrong with Samsung? I feel sometimes they do the stupidest and most questionable things.

Unfortunately even though we're vocal about the things they remove we're not the majority. It's a fact that most don't use the Bluetooth feature on the S-pen. Honestly there's a large amount that don't even use the pen in general. Most consumers purchase the Ultra because it has the largest screen of the S series. For a normal consumer this will not be the number one complaint about the S series. I'm still mad at them for dumbing down the action memo features introduced on the Note 8 not to mention removing MST from their phones and watches. Manufactures are always looking for ways to cut cost and remove things that the masses either won't notice or care to see removed. I'm just happy to see that they're still including the S-pen because one day that won't be the case.

Likely because Samsung knows most don't use the S pen anyway. Which is why they stopped calling them "Notes."

So... If most don't use the S-pen, and they stopped calling them "Notes," when even design the whole device around this? Why not just stick with the original S formula, much like the S21U, S20U, S10+, S9+ etc.
Honestly, this makes more sense to me.
Or make the S-pen as a separate optional accessory.

I think this was done to appeal to both crowds. The S21U was the end of a separate big display, high-end Samsung flagship w/o stylus and the differences between it and the Note Ultra were minimal. I would think it was getting too costly to produce both types of devices, so Samsung streamlined its product line.

I am one of the few who used the S-pen on my S23 at least when taking photos, and no... it is not the same as using the watch, the pen is one two and that's it!
Now that they removed the Bluetooth, what would be the uses of the pen in the daily use of the phone?

I almost had to flip a coin to decide between the ultra or the plus thanks to this little detail.

Never used the BT functions myself other than a handful (literally) of instances and none were 'real world' scenarios :( So I guess I'm part of the reason this got dropped (on a tablet, however, whoooooole different story... I just don't use the small screen on a phone 'remotely' as much as I do a larger one... and yes, for pictures I prefer the watch because I can see what I'm taking a picture of rather than guessing, or just using a timer). Does suck when Sammy takes things away when, on paper, aren't that big of a deal to keep (I mean, you have BT on the phone, the pen didn't change dimensions, the firmware is already there for previous models... they literally just axed the BT chip from the pen to save a few fractions of a cent).

Also, remember that as much as we'd like to believe we're the 'golden standard' on how we use things personally, most times it just not that common. These decisions aren't made solely (largely, yes, but not solely) on an economic perspective, but there's market research and device analytics that back the decisions up. Otherwise all those 'I won't ever buy Samsung again because they took away the IR blaster!' or 'BT-only devices aren't the future, Samsung will fall for removing the headphone jack!' threats would have, indeed, 'killed' Sammy's flagships years ago, and they didn't. Because in reality, those were underutilized features (that still cost the company money to develop and maintain).

I use the S-pen all the time; never used the bluetooth feature and not sure how or why it is used.

Samsung claim that there were very few users for the Bluetooth s-pen. At least that was what the article I read said. I try to find it.
