Not ready for LTE
Price
Form factor/size
You were Dinc1 fan

for me its the price and because I didnt like anything else for various reasons.

(i wanted this to be a poll, i checked the box but nothing happened)

Size. Big screen but really thin around the edges, it fits the hand well. Good battery life, and it's no slouch.

Best option for Global Roaming offered by Verizon Wireless. However, now that VZW has jacked up the global data fees I'm thinking of staying in the US and switching to AT&T.

hmm i thought since it was specifically a "global" phone the transition/fees would be seamless. I think i remember the only thing that made my old LG dumbphone not a global phone was that i had to pay more to go out of the country. what makes it "global" if you still have to change your plan and pay more to use it globally?

"Global" means that is has a GSM radio and SIM card. Very few countries outside of North America have CDMA.

My old phone was getting on my nerves.

Price: $80 on amazon
Battery life as oppose to thunderbolt and charge
HTC sense
Size, not too big and not too small.
Specs better than TB and Charge.
HATE touchwiz on charge.
Global phone since I'm moving to Australia soon

The ATT global roaming rates are no better

1. Form factor and size is perfect for me.
2. Global for when I occasionally travel out of the country for work.
3. I really like sense UI.
4. By far one of the best phones for battery life in this category.

The best option to get away from a very disappointing experience with a Verizon Fascinate global... This phone has great battery life, and is very reliable..!!

The company I work for struck a deal with Verizon for discounts and if I was to continue getting my phone bill paid by them I had to switch carriers. I had already had two iPhones and decided to try something new. For me the Incredible 2 offered the best mix in terms of size, screen clarity and processor power. A lot of the Android phones, especially the 4G ones, are as big as a shoe box. The Inc2 was just a good size and it has decent battery life. And the last factor was the fact that it has a GSM sim card in it. The one thing I enjoyed about my iPhones is that they worked without a hitch in foreign countries. You get off the ground, power up the phone and walla, your iPhone is the same as a local phone. No dialing city codes or anything. It just works. I'm hoping for similar success in using this phone overseas, although I also realize Vodafone doesn't have the best coverage.

since i asked I might as well answer. I'm a android newb coming from blackberry.

for me, first and foremost it was the price. when i started shopping around the LTE stuff was too expensive for me. Also, the LTE stuff was so new and kept hearing of problems with T-bolts. subsequently, the Charge felt cheap and the Rev was Bingified.

The screen size of the Dinc2 was bigger than most and the handset looked cool and felt good in the pocket and in the hand. no bulky protrusions or hard square edges.

I played around with other android phones in the store and since other friends and family have HTC devices, Sense was just what i was used to. Blur and whatever Samsung has seemed weird. Also, after reading and watching every review on the web for this device I started to feel like i knew Sense better than anything else.

I dont need a global phone but I guess its just an added bonus. I've had a Tour for 2 years, which was a global phone too. so whatever.

PS: just placed my order! new Droid user by next week.:D

Wanted Verizon for coverage
Wanted HTC for quality and Sense
Thunderbolt battery management was just too much of a problem for me. I don't want to have to think about it.
Thunderbolt was too heavy (could have lived with this if no other problems)
My Thunderbolt and another I tried in the store had poor voice quality.
Incredible 2 had perfect size, perfect weight, and felt perfect in the hand.
I liked 4g but could do just fine without it.

True, but it is the only way for me to express my displeasure with Verizon (i.e. stop paying for their services).

I feel your anger but unless ATT has as good or better coverage in the places you frequent, switching from Verizon is only punishing yourself. Verizon has no retention department. When you call to cancel they will say sorry to see you go.

Verizon does have a retention department and they will try to keep you as a customer but lately your right they don't seem to care anymore! I would like to leave verizon but the coverage and voice quality of the other carriers is far below what verizon has.

former BB user who likes a smaller iphone style form factor
world capability
reputation with DINC1
Good review online
not ready for a battery hungry lte device

OG Droid died on me and I had to replace it. D3 screen sucks. Charge was also a contender, but I couldn't see spending twice the $$ on nearly the same phone but with 4G.

I'm hoping another decent phone will come out before my 14 days are up though~ Cough*bionic*cough

I have been recommending this phone to my clients - especially those that travel internationally. I think it's still the best bang for the buck on VZW. The D3 may change that, but I've never been a huge Motorola fan.
