The company I work for struck a deal with Verizon for discounts and if I was to continue getting my phone bill paid by them I had to switch carriers. I had already had two iPhones and decided to try something new. For me the Incredible 2 offered the best mix in terms of size, screen clarity and processor power. A lot of the Android phones, especially the 4G ones, are as big as a shoe box. The Inc2 was just a good size and it has decent battery life. And the last factor was the fact that it has a GSM sim card in it. The one thing I enjoyed about my iPhones is that they worked without a hitch in foreign countries. You get off the ground, power up the phone and walla, your iPhone is the same as a local phone. No dialing city codes or anything. It just works. I'm hoping for similar success in using this phone overseas, although I also realize Vodafone doesn't have the best coverage.
