Why do some System Apps have 0-bytes in size?

This is very strange.... can this mean I've been hacked and the system files are remotely located?

Some of mine are too. I don't know why, but evidently it's normal.

In some permissions settings, you can see the name of the file, but not the size, unless you're rooted. Also, some system apps may create files but not have used them yet - that would result in a file of 0 size.
