Re: Why you choose Android?

Besides the customization and insane array of devices you can pick for your own personal style, was because Galaxy Note line was on Android.

I'm a huge fan of Waccom Digitizer/Pens, and the idea of using a waccom based pen on a phone to sketch or use as a mouse intrigued me.

Loving it ever since the first Note release

Re: Why you choose Android?

In short, my original Android phone (an LG Lucid POS) was purchased because it wasn't Apple which is IMHO over-hyped to a fare-thee-well and the "image" they convey to me is simply no where near who I am anyway. I have since graduated to a Droid RAZR Max HD 32GB which works very well still, plus a Nexus 7 (2012). My wife, my son and his wife all use Apple products (like lemmings actually lol) so I have some real experience with iOS8 (and earlier) and I can say that I think it really is a clunky, obtuse and illogical operating system in my mind.

I guess to be fair, I am a long time (since the early 1980s) programmer and currently a SQL Server database administrator and programmer so perhaps I am biased?

man you dou

Re: Why you choose Android?

because it is very much user friendly when compared with Microsoft Lumia or say an Apple iPhone.. i live in India and Indian people love simple things and that's the main reason why Android Smartphones are successful in Indian Markets

Re: Why you choose Android?

Because Leo Apotheker screwed the pooch and totally destroyed webOS.

Re: Why you choose Android?

I like android phone because it is cheaper and easy to transfer data to the pc. :)

Re: Why you choose Android?

The main reason would be because of the xperia play
Without it i might still not have had a android device

I hate devices without buttons since theyre not good or at least comfortable as gaming devices

Oh also android has much better hardware and is cheap

If only they would make a xperia play 2, sure wouod be nice

Re: Why you choose Android?

Considering the smartphone world you seem to have 3 choices: android, ios and wp

IOS is too damn expensive (not only the iphone but all kind of widgets you may want to buy afterwards). And besides everytime I pick an iphone I feel like its an outdated phone, UI is too basic and it doesn't allow you to do almost nothing.

Windows phone is starting to look good, but unless you want to be an early supporter there are no main advantages, app diversity is nothing compared to android or IOS

Android is so far (and I hope it will continue) the best option, you get a lot of diversity of hardware (you can by decent phones for 150$ or less, or buy a 700$ killer smartphone), a lot of app diversity (maybe a bit too much, you have to filter all those awful apps, but anything you may want for your smartphone is probably done in android), and above all a great community!

Re: Why you choose Android?

Hey guys great thread and discussion about android phone but want to know which android phone is best available in market and with what specifications, Thanks!

Re: Why you choose Android?

There's only a few key points why I like Android over iPhone and Windows.

1. Customization and personalization within the OS. You can do more than iPhone and Windows, as they are fixed and bland.
2. Variety of phone manufacturers. iPhone is fixed and Windows is extremely limited.

Re: Why you choose Android?

I choose Android for the ability to do more than any other mobile OS will allow me. Even with the lack of rooting with AT&T or Verizon phones I can still do more than I could on an iphone or Windows phone. I don't dislike either of those OS's and in fact I have used them quite regularly, but I get bored with iOS after 3 months on an iphone, the iPad I find useful, not because of IOS but the internal storage they offer, if any Android OEM would actually step up and do more than 32GB on a tablet I would actually look at it. Too bad MS has that ugly UI its pretty solid phone but the tile interface, yuck.

Android just does more for me.

Re: Why you choose Android?

I wanted to try something different (used Symbian and BlackBerry in the past, and still use Windows Phone).

I'm enjoying my experience with Android, since it works well with Microsoft apps, has many third-party apps not available on Windows Phone yet (my banks; shopping apps--Sam's Club, Walmart, Macy's, Target, etc; supports Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Prime Video) and has an NFC payment solution that works--Google Wallet.

Re: Why you choose Android?

I wanted to develop free apps, and I'm just a poor college student. It would be too expensive for me to buy an iDevice, plus the $99/year fee. Also there is more choices to pick from.

I don't like making those types of decisions about phone platforms so I have both an M8 and a 6 Plus. I love both platforms equally honestly.

Re: Why you choose Android?

I had windows phones before Android. They were meh. They worked but the app market wasn't there when Android was 2.x.

Before that I had an iPod, one of the first. I thought it was cool, finally able to put my Rio player to rest. But then I saw a new iPod, and I saw that Apple wasn't going to update the software on my iPod even though I knew they could. That ended the relationship with me and Apple. itunes also sucked on windows.

Android, the app market is there and nice. I get software updates on my Nexus 5. What more could I ask for?

Used to buy Nokia, before the smartphone era, until i saw the Galaxy s2, that screen was fantastic. So much more colour than anything else at that time. Now using a note 2, again because of the screen. I will stay with Android because of the variety of handsets available. i phones all look pretty much the same, with the exception of the 6 plus i find them all too small.
