Why does autocorrect turn can't into can ' t? Apostrophe/spaces?

Everytime I text a word with an apostrophe, autocorrect adds a space to either side. If I type, "I'm at my mother's house", it changes it to 'mother ' s house'.

Any idea why?

Why? Because the developers are stupid. I have the same issue with SwiftKey as well...dumb, just so dumb, not to mention the lag on these keyboards...also no excuse for that.

I thought SwiftKey fixed that. It was mentioned in a Play Store update page quite a while ago, "following feedback".
I don't get it now on the standard SwiftKey paid app (not beta).

Maybe if :- can't/other apostrophe words are used enough times the learning program accepts them.

My Samsung keyboard doesn't do it either, but it was a problem in the past.

Which keyboard do you have lag on? While I prefer SwiftKey, I haven't seen lag with either.

The stock Samsung keyboard and Swiftkey (Beta and production). It's especially bad when you're trying and receiving a text message. You have zero lag? Never, really??
