why does it say my head phones are plugged in when there not?

I dropped my phone in ketchup and it was perfectly fine and then when i woke up it said my head phones were plugged in when they were not and its not letting me hear anything what do i do now can anyone help me with this problem??
 
Welcome to the forum. I've read a lot of questions here, but I gotta say yours is unique. Without knowing what kind of phone and its water resistant level, I'd guess you have ketchup in the headphone jack and possibly the speaker. The only thing I can think of is to get either an ear wash bulb or some kind of small syringe, not to use water but to try and suck out the ketchup. I'm assuming the headphone jack is shorted and thats why the phone thinks a headset is plugged in.
