Why does it take so long for apps to install on my S6?

It takes forever for applications downloaded from Google Play to install. One app took over 1 hour to install. This is unacceptable. I have high speed internet access with a high speed dual band wireless Netgear R6 200 smart router. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

HTC One M9 with Belkin AC Router .Xfinity Blast 105mbs Wi-Fi. 180 mbs when using AC Wi-Fi on my HTC One M9 & LG G4! Apps download in a blink of an eye. But take from 20 seconds to a whole minute to install. I don't know how old this forum is. I do know that it took forever for Samsung phones to get the Marshmallow 6.0 update. So don't know if the Samsung Galaxy S6 you're using was running 5.1 or 6.0. I can tell you that since the 6.0 update on the HTC One M9 & the LG G4 that the download times were the very same on Lollipop & Marshmallow but the installation times are assnumbing slow! From 20 seconds to damn near a minute. The very same on my brothers brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 .Which he just bought threw the door 2 hours ago. It was running 5.1.1 and installation time was fine. Updated to 6.0 & same problem. It's definitely a Marshmallow flaw. Getting the HTC 10 & the LG G5 early upgrades for the M9 & G4 .Which both run 6.0.1 will post updates to let you know if they install normally after the download .

I had the same problema with my S7 and turning off my mobile network/data fixed it.
Other posts said to do it the other way, that is, disable wifi, tried that to and didn't work, go figure.
I have Century Link for my wifi.

I think I found the way to FIX this issue. Hold the WiFi network selection button until the list of Wi-Fi network appears, on top of them there is the "Smart network switch" option, UNCHECK IT, re-boot the phone and, .. ta da, ... in my case, every went to normal again. Give it a try and let me know if it worked for you..

This solution is only for those mobile takes to much time to install App even if download complete in few seconds. (In this case battery drain faster and mobile heats up every time )

Smartest solution is to check whether Which app takes more battery from setting -> battery. And check again which app take too much ram when not needed in background. (This can be check using running apps from developer option in setting, every phone has different way to activate developer option simply google it).

The app which take more ram and battery is the issue, check that app if it is crashing then uninstall that app and your problem is solved now.

If this is harder then simply check all apps in that which app crashing uninstall that one..
