Why does my camera keep changing to 6MP resolution?

Camera keeps changing to 6MP resolution

I've noticed something very annoying about my Verizon Note 4. The default camera app keeps changing to 6MP resolution. I set it to 16MP and a while later it's back at 6MP again. It's really starting to tick me off. This happened before the Lollipop upgrade so it's not related to that.

Anyone else having the same problem or have any suggestions on resolving the issue (besides switching to a different camera app)?

Open system settings > applications > sort by all > camera > clear cache. Let us know if that fixes your problem.

I noticed mine does this as well but always changes back to 8mp.

Same here. It changes to lower resolution somehow.
