Why does my Emerson EM756 tablet constantly need to be signed into my WiFi?

I connected my EM756 to my WiFi and whenever it is not used it decides to disconnect from my wifi. I checked all the settings and it's set up to remain connected when it goes to sleep. Frustrating when I'm trying to update everything.

How long does it take being idle before it disconnects? Does the wi-fi radio actually turn off, or does it just disconnect from the network? Does this happen on any wi-fi network, or just yours?

Not sure of the timing of disconnecting from wifi. I'll have to test it. I can only connect to my wifi as others in my area are password protected. could try at a hot spot somewhere in town. It's still connected to the network, it just keeps telling me to sign in and when it does it opens new window with nothing in it and it signs it self in. My android phones don't even do this.

When you sign in with your wi-fi password, is it in a dialog box for wi-fi, or do you have to sign in on a login webpage in a browser window?

Try rebooting your router by unplugging its power for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, log into the router's settings menu using your computer browser (see the router's manual for instructions), and see if there are any settings that might force a timeout (like this: Wireless Router keeps on timing out - Wireless Networking)
