Why does my Galaxy Note 4 have a bad battery life?

Hi! I have a Galaxy Note 4 that was heating up so I brought it to the Samsung service center and they said that the hardware is ok and they just updated it to 5.1.1. My warranty ended 3 days ago after I got my phone back and now the battery drain is just too much. The last 2 nights I would leave my wifi and sync on and I will get 15% to 20% battery drain unlike before it was around 2% to 5%. I did a partition cache wipe earlier and charged my phone. So far I got 3 screenshots to show. I hope you guys can tell me what is going on. Thanks!

I live in the Philippines.

just went into my samsung store battery had the same issue they replaced the battery under the manufacturer warranty

I was recently fighting battery drain on a couple phones and did 2 things to help identify the problem.

1 - fully charge the phone and set it next to your router overnight (so you know you have a strong connection). If you see abnormal drain overnight. ..

2 - fully charge the phone, turn on airplane mode, and let sit overnight. Doing this, I verified that my phone is struggling getting a signal at my workplace. If you see abnormal drain overnight. ..

3 - install the app 'ShutApp'. I found out my wife's phone had 60 apps running in the background - apps she never even uses. Yes, 60.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 with ShutApp installed. If you still have bad battery, factory reset time.

I already did 4 factory reset and I just find it strange that after getting my phone from the samsung service center this problem shows up. Last night I turned off my wifi and sync and still lost 10% battery. I should just bring it back to them. Can anybody share their note 4 battery screenshot? Thanks!

Are you using Sidesync? That might cause battery to drain. That was my experience anyway.

The OP's Screenshots reflect the worst time remaining that i have ever seen on AC. 5 hrs at 100% estimated! And yet at 50% it is still 5hrs estimated. There is something drastically amiss here.

If you did a factory reset, you should leave it fresh reset and do the overnight test on airplane mode (so no cell or wifi) services are running. If you have more than 4-5% down after 8 hours of no use from a fresh reset and 100% charge - you have a hardware problem. If you're 95-98% in the morning, you have a cell, software, or app problem.

Ugh, my battery is still giving me issues. I did a proper Factory Data Reset. I restarted without using any back-ups (really a fresh start). I only downloaded Google applications and a few things I always use. I just don't get it.

18 minutes in, and I'm down 8% battery life already. After 18 minutes, I used to only be down like 2%.

What can I do? This is a nightmare!

This is always an issue with Android phones. Best thing I can tell you is that. If you aren't a big fan of extended batteries either carry or charger or spare battery.

Quote The Note 4 Never More😤

Sorry for the late reply. I returned my phone to Samsung and now I wait.

Nope.

It makes me cry and it made me buy a Note5. Sigh.

I guess I will try that when I get my phone back. This is my first samsung battery drain issue and it drives me nuts.
