My Galaxy S II saves pictures to Google photo app I did not take.

T-Mobile Galaxy S II running several Google apps; Gmail, Calendar, Photos, etc. Sometimes in the Photo app there are pictures (screen shots?) that appear to be from games. I didn't intentionally, knowingly save these pictures. What is this? How do I stop it? Thanks for the help.

Re: My Galaxy S II saves pictures to Google photo app I did not take.

Pictures aren't saved to apps, they're saved to storage. Apps show pictures found in storage by Media Scanner.

If an app is going to store a picture, it's supposed to either make the folder the pictures are in invisible, or put a file named .nomedia in the folder, so Media Scanner doesn't scan that folder. (Browsers do that with their caches - every time you visit a web page with pictures, the browser downloads the pictures.)

Evidently you have a game that was "written" (probably created using a game engine, not actually written) by someone who doesn't know how Android works, and he allowed the game's screens to be scanned. All your picture apps are going to show them.
