Galaxy S4-Authentication error occurred and saved, secured

I am on a public network with no access to modem (college wifi) and every time I try to connect I end up resulting with either a saved, secured message or authentication error occurred. I have tried to forget the network then reenter credentials, turn airplane mode off and on then enter credentials, rebooting phone, factory reseting phone and nothing seems to work. Please help.

Unfortunately this type of error is usually resolved by updating the router's firmware (it is a known issue with older Samsung devices, unfortunately) but since you don't have access to the router, well...

Also make sure that the network is not saturated. Some public networks limit the number of simultaneous users (or if their routers just can't take the load) and deny access to new connections once the limit has been reached.
