Why does my Optimus G seem to struggle picking up signal?

I have a new Optimus G, and it will not get signal strength especially in my house. I have the same cell phone provider that I used with my previous phone. My previous phone would text and receive/make calls inside my house. This Optimus G is suppose to be a better phone. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
