Why does my phone act like I am continuously and rapidly tapping the multi function button over and over?

Phone just goes crazy

Hi,

I just bought an S5 and I have a problem that I need help resolving. The issue is this: Sometimes when I unlock it and try to use an app it starts to act like I'm continuously and rapidly tapping the multi function button over and over. So its basically flicking back and forth between the screen where it shows the recent apps and the homescreen. Its very strange. Anybody have that problem or any help on how i can resolve it?

A simple reboot may fix the problem

performing a Factory Reset will put things back to normal,
you will loose all of your data, pictures, messages, etc.... so save those first.
