Hi, I have a HTC Desire 2.

Yesterday, it just stopped accepting my screen password that I have always used & never changed, so I now cannot get into the phone, I can only accept incoming calls.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how can I fix this?

I am guessing I may need to do a hard reset (tried a soft reset with no luck). However the additional problem I have is that the power/end call button stopped working sometime ago, which is needed to perform the hard reset.
Does anyone know how a hard reset can be performed without the power button?

Thanks, in anticipation for anyone who can assist.

It can't, so first get the switch replaced (the button is just a piece of plastic that presses the switch - which is what's not working). The repair shop can (and probably will anyway - to wipe your data, so you can't accuse them of stealing it) wipe it once they replace the switch.
