Why does my phone's storage show a bigger usage for "apps" than what I have installed?

Android Central Question

I have a samsung galaxy a10, the 32gb one.
My phone's storage tells me I have 19gb worth of installed apps, which is not true.
The two apps I have installed that aren't the basic factory apps are Azur Lane (8.13gb), Whatsapp (803mb) and Opera Browser (<100mb), and I doubt the rest of the factory apps add up to the remaining 11gb worth of apps the phone seems to think I have :( Tried clearing all the cache of apps and still nothing

Unfortunately 32 GB storage isn't enough nowadays. Just the operating system takes up around 10 GB space, so just a few apps and a few photos, videos, songs and you'll fill it up. You'll probably need to get a new phone with more storage space.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you sure it's not also showing the total use by system apps and preinstalled bloatware?
