Samsung Galaxy A3 stuck while browsing - only the screen turns off and on

My new (only a couple of weeks old) Samsung Galaxy A3 phone got stuck while browsing the internet. Neither the touchscreen or other buttons respond - only pressing the power button I can either turn the screen on or off. I can't even reboot by holding the power button. It happened shortly after I connected it via usb to my Macbook for charging.

How can I fix this problem?

Are you able to Power Off? If so, try booting into Recovery, and wiping the Cache Partition.
Let us know if that doesn't fix it.

My phone does this too, it has already been back to O2 to get fixed, they said there was no issue with it, but it has happened again...
how do I get it into recovery mode? I can't even switch it off... it's torture... I lost LOADS of photos last time, at least they're backed up now!
