Why does my Samsung galaxy note 3 screen keep turning on?

After 15 seconds screen tries to go into sleep mode but immediately turns itself on again. Developer options..stay awake is not checked. Have tried removing the battery..no change. Have followed all previous instructions with no success.

Something is waking it up. Look in Settings/Battery to see what's using battery other than the screen. One of those apps is probably the one.
