Why does my screen scratch so easily

My nails are clean I assure you there's nothing on them
No, you misunderstand. Your nails are softer than the glass, so it's more likely for the glass to scratch off particles from your nails themselves (which then adhere to the glass and look like scratches) than for your nails to scratch off any of the glass. You say you've actually seen it happen--you've actually watched as a new scratch appears as you run your nail along the glass--so I don't see what else could be occurring. (If you hadn't actually seen it happen, I'd say the marks are from something other than your fingernails.)

The thing is I saw it happen while I was trying to see if the other scratches would wipe off the cloth slipped and folded behind itself while I was whiping the screen

Oh I did research supposedly the phone has an armor aluminum top screen layer .-. Which scratches at a level 2 rating on the mohs scale while a fingernail has a 2.5 since it's just a top layer than I think it's fine .... just a minor inconvenience

All I can say is both my s21 and s22 plus have micro scratches. I've never dropped either of them. IMO, something is just not right with Gorilla glass victus.

There have been complaints about Gorilla glass victus scratching easier than previous versions of Gorilla glass. Supposedly victus is harder to break, but easier to scratch. From what I remember reading victus is less brittle than the older versions, so it flexes a little more instead of cracking, but also scratches easier. Don't quote me on that though ;)

Just be glad you have glass and not plastic like my Flip 3

I wonder if it could be the oleophobic coating itself that's getting scratched, and not the glass.

I've often said it may be the oleophobis coating, then I think of all the JerryRig videos and see him do the scratch test with the picks and you never see any scratches show until the glass actually starts to scratch by pick #6... So makes me wonder why doesn't the oleophobic coating start showing signs of scratches in the earlier picks?

Maybe it has to do with the lighting? Very fine scratches like that might not be readily visible with the lighting used for a typical YouTuber.

Agree

Hmm I've had a similar problem with my S21 Ultra display. My S22 Ultra is very nice without scratches after months of use. Both should be the same display but the quality was surely not. And no, I never used screen protection on any of my phones. It's purely the quality.

I would return it to the store... difficulty is try to prove you didn't do anything wrong
