Why does my stock text messaging app divide my text messages on my Huawei am7?

Huawei am7 stock text message app help.

I am having a problem. The stock text message app on my huawei ascend mate 7 divides my texts messages into two separate threads and I can't figure out why. It's insanely annoying and I'd really like to fix it as opposed to downloading an alternative app.
I apologize in advance if I haven't posted this in the correct place.

Looking at the manual for the phone it does not going in to very much detail about the messaging app. It is probably not very complex and that is probably how it sorts messages. Have you tired going in to the settings of the messaging app to see if there is some kind of sort order option? I know that you said you didn't want to try another messaging app but there a are few out there that are way better than the stock ones. I have been using Chomp SMS for a very long time and prefer it over my Galaxy S6 messaging app. It has a ton of options like pop up window for text messages and a lot of theme options.

It sucks when they make such a nice phone and short features from some of the apps.

Agreed! This phone rocks! (except for a few features of course ) looks like I'll be downloading an aftermarket text messaging app.

Follow up: I did figure out the problem. Depending on where the contact was saved, that's where it divided. (like SD card, sim card, phone).
