I hate it, lousy roll-out. Besides shortened battery life & wifi slow to load, there are many little glitches that at too numerous to catalog, yesterday my brightness was stuck on 100% in a dark room even though the setting showed automatic brightness @ 45%. I checked and unchecked the setting box and it went back to normal. Things like that come up all the time.

So, do you want help diagnosing the issue? If so, post screen shots of battery usage. There is clearly something running rogue or you haven't given MM time to settle in. I have 3 G4's on my account that all run just fine on MM.

Also, can the mods merge the million similar threads?

I think I'm going back to iPhone....

I hate to agree with this but I'm really getting fed up with all the Android nonsense. Janky, settle in, wonky, factory reset, battery... If I hear those words anymore my head is going to explode. Apple puts out a super stable ENCRYPTED device using 1/2 the hardware and its almost "janky" free. I want to blame the carriers and manufacturers but Google set all this up the way they designed Android. Why are Chromebooks so awesome and Android such garbage? Anyway - I downgraded back to 5.1 and decided to root because MM was so bad. I made some small tweaks and debloated and its 1000% better. Might want to look into that solution.

I acknowledge your sentiments. I like the freedom of Android and the phones for the most part, I just can't stand the fact that there are just too many hands in the pot making it an unstable environment for the phone to operate efficiently...but that's the nature of open source right? I have a G4 that's 9 months old, I can't stand it anymore after this update, I wish I could go back but I'm not tech savvy enough to pull it off. I'm really hoping I get the bootloop problem so I can justify a new phone...but will I be in the market for another new phone after it gets the new update next year? Is this the way things are going to be?

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm considering an iPhone when I upgrade. Both of my Android phones are on 5.1 (LG G4 H815 and Droid Turbo) while the rest of the world seemingly is on Marshmallow. But then I read about these experiences and I'm now thinking twice about wanting to go to 6.x.

The iPhone, on a smaller battery, gets a heck of a lot more than three hours. Not to mention Mophie makes cases form to fit for the iPhone. Battery issues solved. I have nine months before I'm eligible to upgrade. Maybe Google and Android providers can make amends for their latest disaster. I have a couple hundred dollars of paid apps I'd lose too.

Disaster? Really? Why? Because on an internet forum there are people complaining about stuff not working correctly?

I have 3 G4's on my account, all running MM, all getting the same battery life as lollipop. None of them are on the internet complaining. Why? Because there's nothing wrong. When T-Mobile drops MM for my V10, I'll update as soon as I get notified. I'm not worried about it.

So much complaining about to many hands in the cookie jar... Google, manufacturers, carriers. Well if you want the pure Android experience, get a Nexus, where only Google touches it. Situation solved.

There are countless threads about this topic all over the G4 forum that need to be merged. Why? Because nobody wants help diagnosing what is running rogue, they just want to post and complain.

First, I posted all my screen shots...not one bit of help other than the routine checks. These issues seem to be rooted deeper than the average tinkerer can figure out.

Second, if I pay for a product I expect it to work...especially an expensive flagship phone. There is a problem with Android and people are starting to get frustrated, why can we not come on here and vent? I'm glad your phone is working great...mine's not, in fact I'm praying for the boot loop issue to hit me. I use this phone mostly for my business...I don't give a hoot about social media time wasting apps and have none of it loaded onto my phone. If my phone doesn't work properly it affects my business.

Third, if enough people bring these issues to light then maybe they get noticed and a resolution is implemented. If you think people are going to sit around an not state any issues then you're wrong.

Fourth, people posting issues helps to determine trends, trends lead to analysis and solutions. The battery, wifi, and multiple gremlins are all trending...to me that denotes a pattern that can be isolated and worked on.

Last, it Nexus made a phone that wasn't a monstrosity I'd be all in. As it is I have my eyes on the S7 based on size as a signifcant factor. Maybe Nexus comes out with a smaller phone someday...I'll be all in, but I'm not holding my breath.

Then there's the dark side which I have no desire to jump to, but Google/manufactureres/carriers are pushing it IMO.

I had the same problems, battery getting hot, one app after another hogging battery for no apparent reason. Even after a back up and factory reset. So frustrating.
I "fixed" my phone by doing some of the following :
Turning off auto sync. Somehow the apps and google and everything else that wants to sync throughout the day were making my phone die a fast hot death. I tried to turn individual ones off and that still didn't help.
It's really not a big deal though, every day I just go in and manually sync everything with my morning coffee.
This really helped with some of the battery sucking apps like T-Mobile and has made a world of difference. No more hot phone.
I also turned location to battery saving unless I'm using my Google Maps for a road trip.
It's also rad since you can now decide which apps to update in the App Store instead of having ones that you thought you disabled updating themselves on you. Good luck! Now my phone works great, and I really did try everything. There's a few good articles out there that can help to give you a rundown of things to check if you google "LG G4 Battery life"

I have also experienced decrease in battery life, I have just backup my data, and wipe the phone, I am curious to see if there is any improvement,
