Why doesn't my S8+ automatically connect to my hands free Bluetooth device

[AC Question]

My Note 5 would automatically connect every time I got in the car. With the S8+ it remains paired but I have to go into Bluetooth settings every time and turn on media and call volume. Then when I make or receive a call the sound is crackly but was fine with the Note 5.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. Did you chose connect automatically when you paired the phone? I would remove the connection from both your car and phone and repair while watching the options. Other issue, you may need an update for your car.

My handsfree is just a plug into the power socket type. I can't see 'connect automatically' as an option in settings.
Guess I'll wait to see if there's a Samsung update or buy a new Bluetooth.
