Why don't I have any sound working on my Samsung Galaxy S3?

No sound working on Samsung Galaxy S3

The sound on my Samsung Galaxy is not working, not during calls, no music, videos or ring tones at all. Also when I make a call the person on the other end can not hear me. There was no known damage to the phone, but it is possible that one of my kids could have accidently changed a setting somewhere

Welcome to the forums. There may be a hardware failure somewhere. Have you checked your sound settings though?
