Why Edge panel on Note 20 Ultra hides automatically when switching applications?

When I open my edge panel it stays out until I tap it. Whether I an app or not. I thought that was normal behaviour. Mine doesn't autohide unless I tap an app

When something happens that seems like it could be due to a phantom touch, I always think of a poorly-fitting screen protector. But if this is a preinstalled screen protector, or one with a special adhesive, then you probably want to exhaust other possibilities before testing it with the protector off.
