Android Central Question

With the latest v9 update of Android - I am now forced to have both "At a Glance" and "Google search" on the Home screen.

Why are you now forcing me to use these Apps / Widgets?

I have been a vocal Android supporter for a long time - specifically because it gives ME the option of which tools to use - and the ability to create the Home screen which suits me.

If the Widgets are good, I will use them - BUT I want to do this on my terms! Please do not give the EU any more ammunition!

Can you therefore make these Widgets optional?

Else, what is the best launcher for me to use with a Nokia 6.1 + running AndroidOne?

... at least until I select my next phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Be aware that this is an independent community forum, without any direct affiliation with Google or any other company.

It's a limitation of the specific launcher you're using. The Pixel Launcher (or whatever version of it Nokia is using) integrates At A Glance and the Google Search bar -- that's always been the case. They're not stopping you from installing a 3rd party launcher. The first thing I do on my phones is to install Nova Launcher, since it allows greater flexibility.
