Why has my S6 stopped booting and charging?

I bought a Samsung S9 a few months ago and stopped using my old S6. Today I decided to boot it to try and factory reset it so I can give to my little brother. The thing is that it has stopped booting and charging. It was perfectly fine 3 months ago, but now I can't do anything. I have already tried Recovery and Download mode but nothing works. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! I'd actually plug it into a wall outlet and let it charge overnight without disturbing it. then press and hold Power for at least 30 seconds straight to see if it powers on.

If it doesn't, then the battery might have failed -- that phone is quite old, after all.

What was the condition of the battery last time you used it? Did you leave it sit with a partial charge? It's not good for batteries to be stored while fully charged or depleted.

I've seen numerous iPhones fail for this reason when I worked at Verizon, it was common for someone to pull an old iphone out of the drawer to activate for a kids first phone and it would no longer power on.
