Why have a front facing camera?

Try having sister fighting cancer who lives in Germany, who I face time with daily.

Sometimes you have to think outside your own box. The world doesn't revolve around a hand full of people.

Sorry to hear that.

The front facing camera does it have it's usefullness outside of selfies. We get to FaceTime with my son and his newborn which means a lot since he's too far away to visit on a regular visit. Sure beats just sharing photos.

Yeah I'm not a big selfie taker. If anything it's for video chats.

What's frustrating me is all this effort to incorporate a front facing camera when I have never once used a front facing camera. Never used the Iris scanning feature, never used it as a mirror, definitely never used it for selfies. Seems to me that this feature is holding back the evolution of the phone. Couldn't they have a model specifically with or without the front camera? Am I alone on this?

I wish there is a model without front camera

Can’t argue with that...my best wishes for your family.

Video calling is handy...although I’m not a big fan of selfies I don’t think removing the camera is a good idea.

If somebody really wants an all-screen phone then my advice would be to go for a slider or op-up design like the Mi Mix 3 and OP 7 Pro and simply not use the selfie camera. It’s there is you ever need it, but otherwise it doesn’t intrude and you have an all screen device. Only compromise is that the pop up/slider design makes the phone slightly thicker/heavier (not that you’d notice).

I hear you. I rarely take selfies - unless I'm with my cat. But then there are a lot of people who use Snapchat and other social media accounts who need that front-facing camera.

I'm actually really enjoying Face Unlock - I use it in tandem with my in-display fingerprint sensor.
