Wrong. Once your hotspot is used up it just shuts off... Unless you purposely go buy more. So there is no auto charging .
Rooting is always an option for unlimited tethering.

Wrong. Initially it WAS a 4G surcharge when the OG Evo came out. When the Iphone first came out for Sprint, they couldn't access WIMAX so it became a "premium data" charge so that they could have iphone users pay it as well.

On my Sprint Note 3, I get LTE in my apartment, at school, on the way to school, etc etc etc, lol. Only a couple of classrooms that don't have anything, and no one really gets signal in those.

I just found that out too. That's 2.5gb for hotspot at no charge with Tmobile, and from what I hear, if you get the $20 unlilmited, you have unlimited data on your smarthone. I know a couple people are running their home internet just off the Tmobile hotspot..

Also, I stayed with Tmobile even after I returned the Samsung Galaxy S4 16gb version. I returned it because I wanted a 32gb version. I just put my Tmobile account on suspension, and try to wait until Tmobile offered the 32gb S4, like Att, and Verizon.. Well Tmobile never got the 32gb S4, and I am glad I waited. .Now, I am sporting a 32gb Note 3, an S4 on steriods..

BTW, IMO, ATT and verizon plans sneakup pass the century mark, with not as many features as the Tmobile offers in their plan.. Just my two cents...

Not crazy good, but pretty good, and good enough that I don't even use wifi at home, just to preserve the wifi for other devices

T-Mobile doesn't throttle unless you're not on the unlimited plan.

Tier 1 - 500 MB of "high speed" data then throttled.

Tier 2 - 2.5 GB of "high speed" data then throttled.

Tier 3 - Unlimited data with no throttling.

I mean the tethering part, I think, but am but am not sure, that once u go over 2.5 on tethering, they lower ur speeds on the unlimited plan.

Ok, I'm new to T-Mobile and I have to learn all there is to know about T-Mo in 2013. Just recently came from Sprint here in Charlotte. Tired of non-existant 4G in my apartment. Now i'm rocking on T-Mobile. Does anyone know if I use an outside tethering app, will I be able to use more than the 2.5 GB without being throttled?
